Derby City Council contract with external suppliers across a wide range of goods and services to support the delivery of services. All our expenditure has to represent value for money for Council Tax payers, whilst effectively meeting the requirements of the service users. Specialist contracts may also be advertised within the trade and national press.

Derby City Council is a signatory to the Small Business Concordat, a voluntary code of practice for local authorities working with Small and Medium sized enterprises.
