2007 marks the first year that Best Bar None has been run in Derby. Organised by the Community Safety Partnership, Best Bar None Derby 2007 has been supported by Derbyshire Police, Derby City Council and further supported and funded by the Community Safety Partnership, Derby Pubwatch and Flint Bishop law firm. The British Institute of Innkeeping, BII - offered participating venues discounted training in responsible alcohol retailing.

 All participating venues were rigorously assessed based on the four key licensing objectives:

• prevention of crime and disorder
• prevention of public nuisance
• public safety, and
• the prevention of harm to children

by a panel of assessors from the DCSP, Council and Police. Of the 32 entries received, 31 gained accreditation and only those that excelled were considered for 'best in category' by a judging panel.
