#Introduction

This grant funding programme is jointly funded by NHS Derby City and Derby City Council and is administered by Community Action Derby.  Voluntary Sector Organisations who are delivering health and social care services in Derby City, are invited to submit applications for one off, small grants up to a maximum of £3,000.

Applications will need to demonstrate how the grant will help to achieve one or more of the 7 outcomes for Adults from ‘Our Health, Our Care, Our Say’ and the 5 outcomes from ‘Every Child Matters’.

  • Improved health and emotional wellbeing

##What will we fund

  • Equipment, repairs, refurbishment or alterations to buildings, which promote equality, or improve services or Health and Safety
  • Short term training courses (under one year), which support the health and social care outcomes listed in section one. Training could be aimed at empowering service users or carers, by developing their skills, knowledge and capabilities, or raising the skill levels of staff or volunteers
  • Short term pilot projects (under one year) or research, aimed at testing out innovative approaches or new ideas for delivering health and social care outcomes, or identifying unmet needs
  • Targeted promotional work, for example, to improve equality of access for under represented groups, or to recruit volunteers from under represented groups
  • Startup costs for new health and social care groups, which aim to meet an identified need.

What we will not fund

  • Applications will not be considered for ongoing revenue schemes. Ongoing revenue costs such as rent, transport or salaries will not be funded, except in the case of newly formed groups, where a start up grant may be awarded in the first year of operation only
  • A grant cannot be allocated from this scheme to replace items that have been stolen, therefore organisations need to be adequately insured.
