February 2010
Scamnesty
During February 2010 libraries and Derby Homes offices across Derby city will be supporting the Scamnesty campaign.
If you have items of scam mail you can send them to Derby City Council Trading Standards, who can then investigate the companies involved.
Just post your letters into the Scamnesty mail boxes ! You’ll find the boxes on the counters or reception desks at libraries and Derby Homes offices.
Sometimes ‘scam’ companies are based overseas, which can make detection and regulation difficult. However, Trading Standards still want to know about them, as they can warn people about new scams and rip-offs !
Remember - never reply to scam mail !
