General Car Park Information
- All City Council car parks are Pay and Display, with the exception of ParkSafe® (Bold Lane), Assembly Rooms and Chapel Street which are pay on foot
- Please have correct money ready, as change is not given on Pay and Display car parks
- Buy your ticket from the machine and display your ticket clearly inside your front windscreen
- Solo motorcycles can be parked free of charge on all City Council car parks except ParkSafe® (Bold Lane)
- Blue badge holders can park for up to three hours for free
- Bank Holidays – Charges apply
- Sundays - Charges apply
All car parks are regularly patrolled by our Civil Enforcement Officers. Please ensure that you purchase a ticket immediately after parking your vehicle and return before the expiry time of your ticket. Park only within marked parking bays. Unless you have a blue badge displayed, do not park in spaces reserved for blue badge holders.
The height restrictions for each car park are:
- Abbey Street: 7ft (2.1m)
- Abbey Street (East): No Height Restrictions
- Assembly Rooms: 6ft (1.9m)
- ParkSafe® (Bold Lane) and Chapel Street: 6ft 8 (2m)
- Council House: No Height Restrictions. Maximum stay is 4 hours
- Darwin Place: 8ft 3 (2.5m)
- Drewry Lane, Little City, Liversage Street and Wilmot Street: 7ft (2.1m)
- Ford Street: No Height Restrictions
- Grove Street: No Height Restrictions

Car Park Season Tickets
Regular users of City Council car parks can save money by purchasing season tickets. These are available for the following car parks:
Abbey Street, Darwin Place, Little City, Drewry Lane:
- £95.00 for one month
- £240 for three months
- £430.00 for six months
- £790.00 for 12 months
Chapel Street:
- £100.00 for one month
- £250.00 for three months
- £440.00 for six months
- £810.00 for 12 months
Bold Lane - ParkSafe®:
- £490.00 for three months
- £900.00 for six months
- £1750.00 for 12 months
Season tickets are now also available to purchase for the following pay and display streets:
Bridge Street, Brook Street, Lodge Lane, Willow Row, St Helen’s, Street Keble Close, Arboretum Street, Morleston Street, Rauche Court, Keble Close, Barlow Street, Bloomfield Close, Sidney Street, Vernon Street and Great Northern Road.

A Season Ticket allows you to park provided that:
- There are spaces available
- your vehicle is parked wholly within a marked bay
- your Season Ticket is clearly displayed in the windscreen.
