The Local Authority determines the school term and holiday dates for community schools. Foundation and voluntary aided schools are recommended to adopt the same pattern of dates.

We have set the following school term dates for all Derby community schools. These dates total 195 days each year and it is for schools to decide when to take their five in service training days (INSET days). Schools will inform parents about INSET dates for their school.
