Derby Principal Urban Area Housing Land Availability Assessment

A Derby Principal Urban Area Housing Land Availability Assessment (HLAA) was commissioned jointly by Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council and carried out by Atkins Ltd in association with Savills Ltd in early 2007. The Assessment was funded through the DCLG New Growth Points Programme.

The PUA SHLAA is a systematic assessment of the land potentially available for housing development within and immediately adjacent to the Principal Urban Area (PUA) of Derby during the period from 2006 to 2026.

The inclusion of any site in the Assessment should not be taken as implying that planning permission for housing would be granted, except for those sites which already have planning approval or which are allocated for housing in an adopted local plan.

The HLAA will form part of the evidence base for Derby's emerging Local Development Framework, particularly the Core Strategy and Site Allocations DPDs.

The Assessment was put out for consultation in May/June 2007 and, after consideration of the responses, an Addendum was produced. The original Assessment should, therefore, be read in conjunction with the Addendum.
