Housing Growth in the Three Cities and Three Counties

A Conference for the Development Industry was held on Wednesday 5 March 2008 at Loughborough Town Hall. This conference, supported by Communities and Local Government, was designed to start a constructive dialogue between the Three Cities and Three Counties New Growth Point Partnership and the development industry about future housing growth, associated infrastructure and service delivery.

Speakers were invited, their presentations can be viewed below:

• Paul Bland  56kb - Head of Planning Policy, East Midlands Regional Assembly -  Housing numbers and locations – 
• Sarah Greenwood  1mb - English Partnerships - "Raising design and environmental standards, and the move towards zero carbon"
• Kevin Scobell  6mb - Commercial Director, Building Research Establishment - "Delivering housing targets within the Code for Sustainable Homes"
• Dave Cummins and Iqbal Rassool  2mb - BWB Consulting Ltd and Procon Leicestershire - "Changing our industry" 

A second conference for authorities was held on Wednesday 12th March 2008, again speakers were invited and their presentations are below:

• Fiona Piercy  8mb -  Head of National Consultancy Unit, English Partnerships - “Capturing development value more effectively” –
• Charles Amies  4mb - Head of Investment East Midlands Region, Housing Corporation - “Delivering affordable housing targets in mixed communities”   
• Matt Quayle  1mb CABE - "Masterplanning to ensure that we get design right"
• David Nock  2mb - "Highways Agency Transport modelling for Local Development Frameworks" 
• Alison Hepworth  1mb - "Green infrastructure"
