Land on either side of Rykneld Road is earmarked in Derby's Adopted Local Plan for new housing. There will be approximately 980 houses, as well as some land for businesses, an extension of the Heatherton shops, and a new primary school. Bus services to and from the area will be improved.

1.74kb (SPD) in partnership with the developers of the site to provide additional guidance for the planning application stage. The SPD has been finalised following consultation on the earlier draft.
A Statement of Public Representation 312Kb. has been prepared to summarise the reponses received from the consultation on the draft and how these have been taken into account.

A Sustainability Scoping Report - 7.3Mb - was prepared at the outset of the process to outline the scope of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) for the Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The full Sustainability Report 1.7Mb has now been completed to support the draft SPD.
