Derby. A city for all ages

Planning

Sites For More Sustainable Communities DPD

This Development Plan Document (DPD) will identify sites for housing, employment and supporting facilities to ensure Derby’s housing and other land requirements can be met over the period 2011 to 2026. The Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) Review and Core Strategy DPD will give strategic direction to the site specific allocations. The original programme has been revised for the reasons outlined in the Core Strategy section.

It is now intended to start work in September 2007 and to consult on Preferred Options in November 2009. Dates beyond this are indicative only, but adoption is envisaged in August 2011.

We intend to prepare a joint DPD with adjoining local authorities for an area somewhat larger than the City’s administrative boundaries. This will enable a coherent approach to the planned growth of the Derby Principal Urban Area as envisaged in the RSS Review.

For more information on the preparation of this document, including the full timetable, please refer to the Local Development Scheme. If you wish to speak to a member of staff please telephone Sheila Mitchell on 01332 255076 or e-mail derby.ldf@derby.gov.uk.
