Employment Land

Derby City Council (DCC), Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) and South Derbyshire District Council (SDDC) have jointly commissioned the preparation of an ‘Employment Land Review’ of the whole Derby Housing Market Area (HMA).

Its purpose is to consider the area’s employment land requirements up to 2026 (the period covered by the emerging Regional Spatial Strategy) and to review the quantity and quality of the HMA’s existing and allocated employment land supply. It was not the purpose of this report to identify new or additional employment sites.

This report will form part of each authority’s ‘evidence base’ for their forthcoming Core Strategies and subsequent Local Development Framework documents. It will help us to identify some of the ‘issues’ the Core Strategy must address and will help to formulate some of the ‘options’ to be considered.

At this point, no conclusions have been made about the report’s conclusions or recommendations. These will be considered through the LDF process.

The Employment Land Review does not pre-empt the further considerations of employment land of sites that may be required to meet employment development needs.

Owing to the size of some of the maps, their quality has been reduced to make them more manageable. If you would like a higher resolution version, please contact Sheila Mitchell telephone:01332 255076 or e-mail: sheila.mitchell@derby.gov.uk to have one sent to you on CD. (there will be a charge of £10.00 for this) A paper copy of the report is available for £25.00
