What Are We Doing and When? (Local Development Scheme)

This page has been designed to let you know the timetable for the production of our Local Development Framework.

Local Development Scheme

The main document that sets out our working timetable is the Local Development Scheme, or LDS. This sets out details of the documents that the Council has adopted and intends to prepare. It identifies timescales, or milestones, for the main stages of preparation over a three year period and also gives indicative timescales for a longer period.

The Council brought its third Local Development Scheme pdf image icon - 3 mb into effect on 29 March 2007 setting out a three year programme from April 2007 - March 2010.

Our LDS will be formally revised to update our programme and to take account of new planning regulations which were published in April 2009. However, in the meantime some of the timescales set out in the March 2007 LDS are substantially out of date. Below therefore, are the up to date timetables for preparing the Core Strategy and the Sites for More Sustainable Communities DPD:

The key dates in these timetables have been agreed by the Derby Housing Market Area (HMA) Joint Advisory Board and reflect the joint work we are undertaking with our neighbouring authorities of Amber Valley and South Derbyshire to ensure our future plans are fully aligned.
