Have you ever stopped to take a look at the public art in the city centre that relates to Derby's heritage? You may be surprised at the number of public artworks and other features that celebrate the rich heritage of the city.

The City Council's Built Environment Team have put together a downloadable
Heritage in Public Art Circular Walk map to help you to explore this heritage. You can
download Heritage in Public Art Circular Walk map here.
The walk takes in historic figures and other features. A theme is contributions to science, technology and art centred in or around Derby throughout the 18th Century. The Heritage in Public Art Circular Walk has been designed for all to take part. It is pleasant and enjoyable and features part of the
and the
City Centre Conservation Area.
A trail for all the family, it is suitable for wheelchair users or people with pushchairs. It may take about an hour or so to complete. Wear suitable footwear, and take waterproof clothing just in case it rains.
The walk begins at the Tourist Information Centre in the Market Place, by the Assembly Rooms. A number of bus services will take you to the city centre directly - ring busline on 08706 082608 for details. You can park your car in the Assembly Rooms car park. Please note that a fee is payable.
Give it a go, you'll get some exercise and you may well learn a thing or two!
