Developing the series
Within this website, a 'Derby Public Artwork of the Month' web page series began in September 2003 and continued through to November 2004. The series was put together for three reasons:
- to help to draw attention to some of the public artworks we have and to give some basic information about them
- to record views about individual artworks from people interested in public art in Derby, to help foster a broader appreciation of our public artworks
- over the months, to build a good information base about public art in Derby that would be useful for environmental education.
At the end of the year, the web pages became the Derby Public Artwork Series. They are to be kept as an information base as originally planned. Unlike our other public art web pages, these pages are not kept up to date. They present a 'snapshot' from 2003-4 about the artworks featured.
Artworks in the series

The series is arranged alphabetically by artwork title.
More artworks and more information
You can see more information and more photographs on our other public art web pages. We recommend in particular the pages about a
short circular trail in the city centre featuring artworks that celebrate Derby's rich heritage.
