Recycling Centres

Derby has 27 recycling sites.  We try to put a range of banks at each site, though some suffer a bit of vandalism
so they haven't got all the banks.

What you can recycle at the sites

Some sites only have a limited number of banks so check before going.

  • Glass Bottles and Jars: Any glass bottle and jar.  Blue glass goes in the green bank, red glass in the brown bank.
  • Tins and Cans: Any Food and Drinks cans, Aerosols (empty), perfume cans, biscuit tins and so on.
  • Newspapers and Magazines: Any White Paper - tear the paper if the fibres are white we will take it.
  • Shoes: Any old or new shoes in pairs.
  • Textiles: Any old clothes suitable for resale
  • Cardboard: Any Cardboard or Card Material.
  • Plastic Bottles: Any plastic bottle or food container (no large plastic items or toys).
  • Books CD's and DVD's: Any saleable item. These sites raise money for Charities.
  • Beverage Cartons: Any Drink or Food Carton like Fresh Orange Juice.
