Street Litter and Street Cleaning

Contact us

The Council is responsible for keeping the city clean and free of litter

The Council's streets are divided into zones, depending on the density of the population and the number of businesses in each area.  The more frequently a road is used, the more often it will be scheduled for cleaning

However, if the visual appearance of an area deteriorates to an unacceptable level at any time, we will take remedial action within the timescales specified in the Code of Practice on Litter and Refuse, issued under Section 89 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990.

If you feel your road is not cleaned to a satisfactory standard, or have any other comments or questions, please contact us using the above details or use our Online Form to enter your enquiry.
