Within the new Pride Park development area, in the heart of Derby, we are forming a
unique 10 hectare green area for nature.

Special habitats for birds, some of them nationally rare, are being created.
Everyone using Pride Park, such as workers,
wheelchair users,

commuters on the Park and Ride and local school children will be able to view this wealth of wildlife from the screened areas, whilst not disturbing it. These areas, located at various points around the edge of the site, will incorporate
pieces of public art.
A wetland area is also being created for other wildlife, including dragonflies.
An environmental centre to serve the whole of the city could also be built next to the wetland area.
Habitat creation within the wildlife area is currently being undertaken. New habitats will be created as and when resources become available. The Council is seeking sponsorship to create these additional habitats and the screened viewing areas. Please email gethyn.davies@derby.gov.uk Pride Park Project Manager, if you are able to help with sponsorship.
