Derby. A city for all ages

A Better Derby for Older People

'A Better Derby for Older People' is Derby's second partnership plan for older people. This plan has been developed to help communicate a vision for how we develop and improve services for older people in partnership. It identifies achievements made so far and future proposals.

'A Better Derby for Older People' has been produced by Derby Older People’s Strategic Planning Partnership (DOPSPP), part of Derby City Partnership. A wide range of agencies, organisations, and local people have contributed their thoughts and ideas to this document.

The plan will be reviewed on an annual basis through the DOPSPP to make sure progress is made against current and emerging issues local people tell us are important.

The plan highlights our achievements and priorities across a range of key themes which are of particular relevance, these are:

  1. Housing and The Home
  2. Information and Access to Services
  3. Income
  4. Getting out and about
  5. Social activities, networking and keeping busy
  6. Health and Healthy Living
  7. Neighbourhood

Other areas linked to the plan are, Community and Living, Education and Learning, Health and Social Care and Leisure and Culture.

You will also find some key contact details within each of these sections so that you can get in touch and find out more. Also included are links to other documents such as local plans or national strategies where you can find out further information.
