Derby. A city for all ages

Housing Homepage

Derby has a wide range of housing to offer people, from new-build executive homes to city-living apartments, traditional terraced houses and family properties.

Social housing in Derby is provided through a wide range of providers.

Council housing is managed by Derby Homes External web link, an arms length management organisation.  It manages, maintains and improves Derby's Council housing and estates.

Housing associations also provide social housing in Derby, and the Council runs the Derby Homefinder service External web link to help people find the right kind of home to live in from those provided by the Council and housing associations.

As well as providing housing, the Council also works to raise standards in privately rented accommodation and works to improve housing in areas of the city through schemes such as the area renewal programme.

Advice and help for private homeowners is available, including home energy advice

Disabled Facilities Grants are available to owners or private tenants to make their home more suitable for a disabled person.  For further information, see the Home Adaptations page.

You can also visit the Housing Benefits web pages if you need advice or information on Housing Benefits.
