Derby's Literature Development Officer is based in the Arts Development team, and supports and co-ordinates a range of activity for readers and writers in the city. This support includes information and advice on funding, creative opportunities, writers in schools and live events in partnership with a wide range of organisations and individuals.
Every two years, Derby Literature Development organises Derby's Festival of Words, a celebration of literature in the city featuring live performance, stories, poetry, food, films and books.
Derby has a flourishing year-round live words programme at venues such as the Assembly Rooms, the Voice Box, Derby Dance Centre and libraries.
Word of Mouth is a quarterly magazine which summarises forthcoming events and includes interviews and features about literature in Derby.
Live Words in Derby is an email bulletin, sent out every month, with information about opportunities for creative writers.
