Readers and Reading Groups

If you’ve ever felt you were in a rut with your reading or just simply want to try something new, you need to find out about our Reader Development Programme. It will help you discover new authors and try new types of reading. It also gives you the opportunity to talk about books with other like-minded people.

Chain Reaction

This is for people who don’t want to go to a regular meeting, but still want to try out new writers and compare notes. Everyone in the chain reads as many of the books as they can and writes a short review before passing them on to the next person. Four times a year all the members of the chains get together in the library one evening over a glass of wine to talk about what they’ve read and choose the next set of books. Chain Reaction is running in Allestree, Alvaston, Mickleover, Sinfin and Spondon Libraries.  Please contact any of the participating libraries for more information.
