Friday 5 September 2008, 5pm - 6pm

Paul Hill will talk about his work in Personal Places.  In the exhibition he has used landscape, family wildlife pets and other aspects of his immediate environment as the subjects of his photography.

Steve Schofiled will give a talk about his work in the Hotel exhibition which explores the way the British choose to spend their holiday and leisure time. It looks at how their choice oif themed experience allows them to blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality for a momentary break from their weekly routines.

Saira Lloyd is interested in the fragments and debris left behind from the activities of life. Using domestic materials, latex, hair, wire, needles and thread, she explores remnants and residues that reveal so much.
Joint talk with Maggy Milner.

Blue

Thursday 9 October 1pm – 2pm

Blue, an installation of backlit photographs and video, sets up equivalents for loss, absence and tragedy. Relying on the spiritual qualities of light, emotive colour and iconic form, Maggy Milner invites the viewer to decode and unravel visual clues.

Thursday 16 October 2008, 1pm - 2pm

John Tunley will talk about his work in Cave Paintings. The exhibition links the museum's natural history specimens with photography.  the specimens are a mirror on nature, photography a mirror on the world.  John Tunley's carbon prints connect with the earliest art form, cave painting.
