From North and South*

M1 Motorway, junction 25, onto A52 signed Derby. Follow A52 for approx 7 miles. At the large roundabout - The Pentagon - take 2nd exit, signed City Centre. The road splits into several lanes, take the 2nd lane from the right. After going under the bridge, stay in lane and then take the second slip road to the left which is just before the Joseph Wright College. At the end of the road, turn right. Round the sharp left hand bend and turn right into ParkSafe Car Park. From the car park, continue along the road passing the Thai Dusit restaurant on your left. At the traffic lights, cross the road. Derby Museum and Art Gallery is in front of you.

From East*

From Nottingham, take A52 to Derby. Follow route as North and South.

From west*

From Ashbourne, take A52 to Derby. At roundabout with the Petrol Station on right, take 2nd exit off roundabout. After approx ¾ mile at one-way system, take left-hand lane following the road round to the left. After the road bends to the right, keep in the left-hand lane - Agard St. At traffic lights, follow the road round to the left. Take right-hand lane and continue to pedestrian lights following the road round to the right. Continue in the right-hand lane and take the slip road to the right - with Radio Derby on your left. Turn right at the traffic lights. Follow to end of road and turn right. Round sharp left-hand bend and turn right into ParkSafe Car Park. From the car park, continue along the road passing the Thai Dusit restaurant on your left. At the traffic lights, cross the road. Derby Museum and Art Gallery is in front of you.

Nearest Train Station: Derby

Exit the railway station taking the road ahead - Midland Road. Pass the large Post Office building on your left. At the traffic lights, turn right onto London Road. Go straight on at the roundabout and continue past the public toilets onto the pedestrianised St. Peters Street. Continue along St. Peters Street to the crossroads with the pedestrian lights. Cross the road and turn left onto Victoria Street. Pass Debenham’s department store on your left. At the next junction, take the right-hand fork ahead of you – The Strand. Continue ahead and at the pedestrian lights cross the road and Derby Museum and Art Gallery is in front of you.

Derby Bus Station

Please note: Derby Bus Station is closed while major works to replace it are carried out. Most buses that terminated there now stop on Corporation Street – adjacent to the bus station site.

Walk along Corporation Street with the court building and then the Derby City Council building on your right. Cross the road to the Assembly Rooms building and the Tourist information Centre. Walk across the Market Place with the Assembly Rooms on your right. At the end of the building take the pedestrianised Sadlergate opposite you. At the end of the street, turn left and you will see Derby Museum and Art Gallery in front of you.
