A late 16 or early 17 Century gold signet ring. The ring has a hoop that expands at the shoulders with an oval set vertically. The bezel is engraved with the initials WW, an interlaced knot above and below and a beaded border. This is a characteristic type of the period. The interlaced double knots suggest that the initials are those of a married couple.
