Chellaston New Park is situated 5 miles south-east of the city centre and occupies nearly thirteen acres of Boulton Moor. The Park is well signposted from both directions whether coming from the A50/Alvaston or Chellaston itself. It is located off Snelsmoor Lane where ample car parking is located by the sports pavilion.
The park is on the edge of countryside with panoramic views of South Derbyshire. There is a designated area set aside to encourage wildflowers for insects. Native deciduous trees have been planted around the perimeter of the park, creating ideal habitats for birds and animals alike. A hard standing circular walk has been laid around the perimeter of the park to give improved access in wet conditions and reduce the trampling of grasses and shrubs.
