Darley Fields

Across the main pathDarley Fields is situated across from Darley Park on the opposite side of the river Derwent and is primarily used its for sporting facilities.

The main entrance and car park is via Old Chester Road, off Mansfield Road.

 

 

 

 

Facilities

Darley Fields

There are rubber surfaces used for:

  • basketball
  • five-a-side football
  • tennis courts, 4 of which are permanent, 2 are for flexible use and there are also up to 12 grass courts
  • uni-cycle hockey is also played
  • there are also a number of cricket nets and 2 practice wickets.

 

Main PathwayThere is a main footpath/cyclepath path through the middle of the park leading towards Darley Abbey. On the river side of the path there is open grassland. On the opposite side there are number of football pitches. Near the Little Chester recreation ground, on the town side of the park, a cricket ground is situated about 100 metres from the main park entrance. It is accessible along the riverside path, through the woods, as well as by its main entrance on City Road.
