Derby City Council owns and manages two golf courses in Derby which have provided enjoyment to golfers in the Midlands for more than 80 years. As Council courses they continue to make golf more accessible to the public. The two unique and very different courses have both matured, with thousands of trees lining the fairways and populating the copses. The terrain however is quite different. Sinfin, which lies to the south of the city, is generally flat occupying what was previously fenland. Allestree, to the north, is set in the grounds of 18th century Allestree Hall. The highest points on the undulating course has fantastic panoramic views across Derbyshire.
"I have been playing golf in Derby for more than 30 years and it has given me a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment. I urge everyone to take up the game today and enjoy the real benefit golf will bring to your life."
