History
King George V Playing Fields were established by the Littleover Parish Council who purchased the land and opened the park to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935. The 14.2 acre site was transferred to the former County Borough in 1968.
Clemson’s Park, an area of parkland was given to Littleover Parish Council in 1954 by the late Mr A H Clemson, a businessman and local resident. The Clemsons’ began in Derby as boot manufacturers in the mid 19th Century, but in 1880 had turned over to manufacturing packaging, which continued until they were taken over. Their works were in the former Maltings, Forman Street.
The park was transferred to the then County Borough in 1968, it is 17.5 acres in extent. These park's sit together to form one site in the suburb of Littleover forming a large recreational space for the local community, set around the site for Carlyle Infant School. Briars Lane footpath leads between the two areas from Littlleover at Austen Avenue through to Heatherton. You can also access the site from, Datchchet Close.

BIG FUN DAY ! - 6 September 2008
Recently a Fun Day for all was organised by Littleover Youth Club in aid of the Youth Club itself and Cancer Research, it was free and open to all.

The Community Café at King George V Pavilion is open from 10am – 11.30am on the first and third Fridays of the month. (See Below.) Tea/coffee 50p, free top up and biscuits, everyone welcome. If you wish to hire a room at the pavilion contact the Rangers Office.
- Carlisle Against Crime Coffee Morning
The coffee mornings run on the first Friday of each month, October to April, and additionally on the third Friday between May Bank holiday and September. Everyone is welcome. It is attended by local authorities like the Police, Youth Services and Derby Homes; the councillors also hold a surgery here. It is non-profit making and run by volunteers in the community as a way of bringing people together. It has been running for two years and is very successful. - Carlisle Against Crime Quarterly Meeting
There are quarterly meetings held in the evening at the Pavilion. Members of the local community and the authorities come together to discuss issues affecting the local area. To view details of the next meeting see Park Events.
There is 1 cricket table available for games, no casual bookings can be taken. If you are interested in applying to play at King George V please contact our Rangers Service.
There are 3 full size senior football pitches available for use throughout the Parks football season (September – April). If you are interested in one of these pitches becoming your home ground, please contact the Derby city Parks - No casual football bookings can be taken on here.
Play area
At King George V there is 1 play area, which includes slides, swings and a roundabout. The play area is inspected daily by our Park Rangers to check that the equipment is safe and the site is clear from litter.
Littleover Bowls Club is based on King George V Playing Fields. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Bowls Club please contact Derby City Parks.
Whether you are a budding professional or someone who just enjoys a casual game of tennis, why not use one of the 2 tarmac tennis courts. For more information on these, please contact our Rangers Service.
