This recreational ground is a few acres of land situated behind the rear of Kingsway shopping park and backs onto the houses that run along Cheviot Street. It has two main points of entry/ exit by foot, one where Cheviot St joins Slack Lane and another just a little further along. You can also access the site via a back entrance off the lower industrial kings area.

There is a pleasant stream which runs through the middle of the expanse and a circular pathway around the perimeter. This was much improved in 2007 with the addition of several other enhancements. There was the installation of a Hard Play Area which has both a basketball hoop and football goals. For younger children there are a couple of springees near the park entrance.
