
Derby in Bloom is an initiative to encourage the City of Derby and its community to take pride in their area by improving their immediate surrounding environment. The aim is to make Derby a more vibrant, attractive, cleaner and greener place in which to live, work, visit and spend recreational time.
Through its Derby in Bloom initiative the Council enter into East Midlands in Bloom, the regional competition of Britain in Bloom.
If successful at the regional level then selected winners are chosen to represent East Midlands in Bloom at National level – Britain in Bloom.

As part of the Derby in Bloom initiative the Council run numerous competitions to encourage residents and businesses to improve and enhance the City of Derby.

The presentation evening for all 2007s winners was held at the Derby Garden Centre and was a great success.

As well as running competitions the Council gets involved with the local community and businesses through projects, partnerships, community groups, schools and sponsorships.
