Revamp for Rykneld Community Centre
Rykneld Community Centre was given a new lease of life on Wednesday, 30 January, when a team from n-power descended on Derby for a team building day with a difference as they redecorated the centre with a ‘Changing Rooms’ style makeover.
The day was organised by CSV in partnership with n-power and Derby City Council’s Community Centre Liaison team. It involved 26 members of staff from n-power offices in Birmingham and Hull meeting up to put something back into the community. The team worked on the centre from 9.30am till 3.30pm, managing to redecorate the main hall and conference room, giving it a fresh lease of life.
‘It has definitely brightened the place up. Rykneld was in need of a facelift and this is just what it needed. The colour scheme looks great and as soon as I walked in I thought wow! This is like walking into a new building. The people that have done this are amazing and have done a marvellous job.’
Sue Andrew, Cleaner and Caretaker of Rykneld Community Centre.
