Dance in Derby

This project aims to provide new dance opportunities for girls throughout the area, using dance as a fun and creative way to encourage active lifestyles. It is aimed at secondary schools and organisations who want to provide a dance programme for girls and young women.

Schools, teachers and organisations who want to provide their students with dance activities after school hours will be provided with a qualified and specialised dance tutor to run the dance sessions. The organisation or student will be charged a small fee.

What we can offer

  • Specialist delivery
  • Taster sessions
  • Weekly after school dance sessions
  • Youth dance groups
  • Performance events
  • Holiday programmes
  • Community leadership training programmes
  • Resource packs

The benefits

For you: If you would like to set up after school dance clubs but do not have the time, expertise or confidence or if you would like taster sessions for students or staff, or help with ideas and resources.

For students: Not only is dancing full of fun and great exercise but when students receive a high quality experience in dance it increases fitness, flexibility and can also improve confidence and self-esteem. The non competitive element of dance can bring a sense of achievement.
