SPORT AND LEISURE FUNDING ZONE GOES LIVE
Derby City Council’s website now includes a section that provides advice and support on sources of funding for individuals and organisations involved in providing opportunities in sport and physical activity in the City.
‘Funding Zone’ went live in May 2007 and provides a one-stop guide on external funding opportunities that are currently available to develop the activities of an individual, club or group.
‘Funding Zone’ features information on a number of internal and external grant aid schemes and these include:
Sport and Leisure
• Children’s Physical Activity grants to support initiatives for children up to 16 years to encourage them to get more physically active, particularly targeting girls
• Voluntary Sport Organisation grants to fund activities that cannot be funded from any other source
• Community Centre grants to support community associations that manage community centres which are leased from the City Council
• Pursuit of Excellence grants for people living in Derby who have attained a minimum of County standard in their particular sport.
Other External Funding Sources
• Awards For All
• Derbyshire Sport – Coach Bursary Scheme
• John Weston Charitable Trust
• Sport Relief
• Derby City Partnership Small Change Programme.
The Sport and Leisure External Funding Newsletter contains the most up to date information on funding sources and is available to download from the website. There are also top tips to help make sure your application is successful and links to other funding organisations.
This webpage is an ideal way to keep informed on the funding sources available and minimises the chance of missing out on vital funding. The Funding Zone is a dynamic information resource that will be continually updated and improved. It is available to be viewed now and can be accessed at www.derby.gov.uk/fundingzone
