Learn to Swim in Derby

Derby is a great place to learn to swim. We offer a full programme of lessons based on the Amateur Swimming Association National Teaching Plan to ensure your child gets the very best instruction. Once your child has developed their stroke technique and stamina they can choose to continue through the levels up to our Elite Squad or opt for one of our aquatic strands including canoeing and diving. If you are an adult who wants to learn to swim or increase your confidence in the water then we can help with our programme of adult lessons.
We have also become the first local authority in the county to achieve Aquamark status for our Learn to Swim scheme based at Queen's Leisure Centre and Moorways Swimming Pool. Aquamark is awarded by the Amateur Swimming Association. It is designed specifically to help organisations providing swimming programmes to improve and enhance the service and to assist in improving the level of swimming ability in the UK. We received the top Aquamark award of 'Premier Scheme for Teaching and Coaching of Swimming' after an independent assessment was carried out.
