Workout Class Programmes for Leisure Centres

With over 100 workout classes to choose from each week, you should find that there's something for everyone. From the lighter 'Beginners Step' to the more intense 'Box-a-Cise with Kick,' you can pick a class to suit your ability.

You can pay each time you go or taking out a bfit membership. You can also save money by getting a Passport to Leisure card.

Indoor Cycling

Moorways Sports Centre and Springwood Leisure Centre are running indoor cycling sessions. Indoor cycling is a group workout session, providing you with the experience of outdoor road cycling, indoors.

The motivating, friendly and energising sessions will:

  • workout your heart and lungs
  • tone your lower body, while improving posture
  • burn calories to maintain your body weight
  • help you relax and de-stress.

    A

Ab Attack A quick warm-up followed by lots of exercise to target your tummy
Active Living and Beginners Ideal if you are older, new to excercise or returning to classes after a break. Simple, safe and effective moves to improve your heart and lungs fitness, flexibility and co-ordination
Active Living Keeping Active A simple, safe, low-impact aerobics and toning class ideal if you are older or new to exercise or returning after a break. Includes optional floor, tummy, stretch and relax sections
Active Living Aerobics/Keep Fit/Stretch and Tone A simple, safe and effective workout to improve your heart and lung fitness, flexibility and
co-ordination
Active Living Step A class that uses step to strengthen your heart, lungs, bones and muscles
Adventure Ride Indoor cycling class. A higher intensity fitness adventure over rolling hills, incorporating sprints and hill climbs. Give your heart and lungs a really good workout and improve your posture.
Aerobics A heart and lung workout combining high and low impact moves that are fun and effective. Great for fat burning
Aqua Fit Aerobics in the water, easy on your joints yet tones your muscles. Great if you need to los weight, have limited mobility or are pregnant
Aqua Natal A safe and effective class to help you through your pregnancy

Ballet Fit A low impact conditioning class using modifies ballet movement to help improve your body awareness and increase your overall fitness
Beginners Step Learn all the basic step moves and good stepping technique in this class
Best of Both A great workout including 30 minutes' step and 30 minutes' body conditioning
Body Blitz High and low impact moves which target the whole body, giving you a high-energy workout
Body Conditioning Standing and floor work to tone your muscles. These classes are suitable for everyone.
Box-a-Cise Learn basic boxing moves and get a great workout
Box-a-Cise with Kick An aerobic warm-up, boxing moves and circuit training to improve your strength, stamina and shape
Bums, Tums and Thighs A body conditioning workout concentrating on your lower body

Calorie Busting Ride Indoor cycling class. An energetic, high intensity class to really burn those calories. Indoor cycling gives your heart and lungs a really good workout and improves your posture.
Cardio Crunch A fat burning aerobic workout to tone, shape and strengthen your muscles
Circuits Excellent cross training designed to improve stamina and suppleness

Double Cycle Challenge Indoor cycling class. An energetic 30-minute ride and a 15-minute abs workout. Indoor cycling classes give your heart and lungs a really good workout and improve your posture.

Easy Exercise and Active Living An ideal class if you are older, new to exercise or returning after a long break. Simple, safe and effective moves to improve your heart and lung fitness, flexibility and co-ordination

    F

Fit Nation Gentle exercise to include fat burning and toning. Suitable for people on a weight loss programme. No hi-impact work. Optional weigh in
Free Style Fitness Yoga Uses a variety of Yoga-based postures and sequences to improve core stability, strength and flexibility. Concentrates on the physical benefits of Yoga rather than spiritual benefits.
Fun Ride Indoor cycling class. An introduction to a fun and enjoyable 45-minute workout session. Give your heart and lungs a good workout and improve your posture by learning the basic cycling techniques through easy to follow instructions.

Quick Condition 45-minute class including body conditioning and fat burning moves. Some classes may include some step work

Salsa Fit A fun, high-energy class that includes a mix of aerobics, Latin American dance and Flamenco. No floorwork, no previous experience and no partners required
Salsarobics Latino-style aerobics class using Latin music and salsa style moves
Step Get a great heart and lung workout whilst toning your lower body and burning calories
Step and Abs A step class combined with plenty of tummy work
Step and Swiss Ball A step class with some great core body work
Step and Tone A step class with hand weights and floorwork

    T

T'ai chi Traditional Chinese exercise using gentle stretching movements. Suitable for everyone
Total Body Toning Low-impact aerobics using handweights, floor work and a cool-down stretch
Triple Challenge 20 minutes' aerobics, 20 minutes' step and 20 minutes' body conditioning
Tummy Tone A 30-minute class to work your core muscles using a variety of techniques including using a Swiss ball

Yoga A gentle exercise class involving relaxation and stretching, ideal for stress relief
