Parents and guardians are urged to get their children involved in an exciting programme of summer holiday activities between 28 July and 29 August as Derby City Council’s b-active Summer Xplosion hits Moorways Swimming Pool, Moor Lane, Allenton, Derby.

Moorways Swimming Pool is running the following activities in week three of the summer holidays:

• Intensive Learn to Swim courses from 11 to 15 August from 1.15pm to 1.45pm for Level 4/5, 1.45pm to 2.15pm for Levels 1 and 3, 2.15pm to 2.45pm for Level 1, 2.45pm to 3.15pm for Level 2 and 3.15pm to 3.45pm for Level 1. Levels 1 to 5 are for ages four years and over. People should book in advance.

• Play rafts from 11 to 15 August from 2.45pm to 4pm for children up to 16 years old. All children under eight years must be accompanied in the water by an adult. There is no need to book (people can just turn up).

• Adult and Child and Family Swim sessions from 11 to 14 August at 10.30am to 12.15pm for adults and children under 8 years. There is no need to book (people can just turn up).

• Adult and toddler swimming from 11 to 15 August from 12.15pm to 1.15pm for adults with children under five years of age. There is no need to book (people can just turn up).

• Flip ‘n Fun diving sessions between 11 and 13 August from 10am to 10.30am or 10.30am to 11am. They are suitable for competent swimmers who are confident in deep water, able to swim 25m and can tread water for two minutes. Places must be booked in advance.
