Parents and guardians are urged to get their children involved in an exciting programme of summer holiday activities between 28 July and 29 August as Derby City Council’s b-active Summer Xplosion hits Springwood Leisure Centre, Springwood Drive, Oakwood, Derby.

Springwood Leisure Centre is running the following activities in week three of the summer holidays:

• b-active Xperience on 11 to 15 August at 9am to 3pm for ages five to 15 years. Participants should book in advance.

• activity sessions on Monday 11 August for three to five year olds, Wednesday 13 August for four to six year olds, Thursday 14 August for five to nine year olds and Friday 15 August for three to six year olds from 1.15pm to 2.45pm. Participants should book in advance.

• Springtots on Wednesday 13 August at 9.45am to 10.30am for nine months to three years, 10.45am to 11.30am for three and four year olds and 11.45am to 12.30pm for three to six year olds. Participants should book in advance.

• trampolining on Thursday 14 August from 4.10pm to 5pm and 5pm to 5.50pm for seven to 16 year olds. Participants should book in advance.

• football on Monday 11 August at 5pm to 6pm, for eight to 14 year olds and Friday 15 August at 4pm to 5pm for four to eight year olds. Participants should book in advance.

• streetdance on Tuesday 12 August from 4pm to 5pm for ages 10 to 13 years. People can turn up on the day but to guarantee a place should book in advance.

• cheerleading on Monday 11 August from 3pm to 4pm for 10 to 16 year olds. Participants can turn up on the day but to guarantee a place should book in advance.

• b-active buzz on Wednesday 13 August from 3pm to 5.30pm for ages 11 to 15. Participants can have a go on Wii Fit, Wii Sports, visit the b-active diary room and tell b-active what activities they like doing. They can turn up on the day but to guarantee a place should book in advance.

• Dance mat sessions on Sunday 17 August from 12.30pm to 1pm and 1pm to 1.30pm for ages eight to 11. Participants can turn up on the day but to guarantee a place should book in advance.
