Parents and guardians are urged to get their children involved in an exciting programme of summer holiday activities between 28 July and 29 August as Derby City Council’s b-active Summer Xplosion hits Shaftesbury Sports Centre, Shaftesbury Street, Derby.
Shaftesbury Sports Centre is running the following activities in week three of the summer holidays:
• Trampolining on 12 August from 9am to 10am and 10am to 11am for ages five to 12.
• Dance Mat sessions on 15 August from 9am to 12 noon. The first hour is for five to seven year olds, the second for eight to 11 year olds and the third for participants aged 12 and over. Sessions last 30 minutes.
• Anyone aged 11 to 15 years can get the b-active buzz on 14 August from 3pm to 5pm. It is a great chance to have a go on Wii Fit, Wii Sports and to visit the b-active diary room and tell the b-active team what activities a user likes doing.
• Skipping sessions on 11 August from 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm for ages five to eight years and nine to 15 years respectively.
• Sports for disabled children aged nine to 16 on Wednesday 13 August from 1pm to 2.30pm.
• Mini-Olympics on Thursday 14 August from 9am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm for ages five to 12 years.
