Derby. A city for all ages

Climate Change Action

The Silk Mill and Derby CathedralDerby City Council acknowledges the increasing impact that climate change will have on our community during the 21st century and commits to tackling the causes and effects of a changing climate on our city.

These pages and links set out the context for our concerns and the framework for our response.

Raising awareness of climate change and what we can do to tackle it is an important part of the Council’s work. To help keep up to date, we have arranged a link to GBTV’s CarbonFreeTV, a dedicated online television channel. The channel promises to provide regular, easy to understand content on reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. It will feature reliable and independent perspectives from leading experts; news on new energy conservation and efficiency solutions for homes and businesses, alternative power generation, renewables and microgeneration; special features on reducing CO2 emissions, and case study examples of best practice. You can access the channel through this link: www.carbon-free.tv.

Council Members and Council officers are asked to note that when linking from within the Council’s computer system you will be asked to use Quota Time in accessing the channel. Please click on the ‘Use Quota Time’ button to start a 10 minute viewing session. Individual programmes in the series are less than 10 minutes long.

Please let us know what you think about coverage on the channel. You can email to climate.change@derby.gov.uk or contact us at the address below.
