Bird and Bluebell Walk, another in the Council's series of walks and activities, takes place on Saturday (18 April).
Members of the public are invited to join the Friends of Chaddesden Wood for a walk through Chaddesden Wood, Derby's first Local Nature Reserve. People can find out about the birdlife found in the wood and have a look at the bluebells with a member of staff from Derby College – Broomfield Hall.
Anyone who is interested in joining the walk should meet at the main entrance to the wood off Springwood Drive, Oakwood at 8.30am. The walk will last about two hours, and is on quite smooth and gentle paths, but they can be wet and muddy. People should bring binoculars if they have them.
Dogs on leads are welcome. Nearby bus routes are numbers 22, 24 and 26. People can call traveline on 0871 2002233 for details of these bus services.
All the walks and activities in the programme are suitable for all the family, and are a fun way for people to see more of the city's wildlife and history and at the same time improve their health. They are all free of charge.
Leaflets about the walks and activities are available in local libraries, Council offices, the Tourist Information Centre and doctor's surgeries. Or visit the WildDerby website.
