Derby Household Bin Collections over the Christmas Period

Derby City Council will deliver a leaflet to householders, from tomorrow (Saturday 22 November), detailing rubbish and recycling bin collections for the next two months.

They replace any previous collection calendars and include the following information:

Thursday 18 December to Wednesday 24 December

All black rubbish bins, whether it’s a ‘black bin week’ or a ‘recycling bins week’, will be collected. In addition, if it’s a ‘recycling bins week’, blue and red recycling bags and brown bins will be collected, but not blue recycling bins.

Thursday 25 December to Wednesday 31 December

There will be no household bin collections.

Thursday 1 January to Wednesday 7 January

All black rubbish bins, whether it’s a ‘black bin week’ or a ‘recycling bins week’, will be collected. Extra bags of non-recyclable rubbish left by the bin will be collected, this week only. In addition, if it’s a ‘recycling bins week’, blue and red recycling bags and brown bins will be collected, but not blue recycling bins.

From Thursday 8 January

Collections will be back to normal and extra bags will no longer be collected.

Raynesway Recycling Centre is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day from 8.30am to 6pm.
