You can now sign up to view your council tax account details online.

With our online service you can now:

• Check your account, view transactions and see the bills or correspondence we've sent to you
• Complete a direct debit mandate
• Pay your bill
• Sign up for e-billing
• View council tax bands for properties in Derby

Our online service now provides more information than ever before. You can see how your bill has been calculated, view your instalments, payments and even see the bills or notices we've sent to you.

Register or log in to Council Tax Online 

From 12th May 2008 a new release of the Council Tax online service is in place.

There are some minor visible changes to the layout and text but the main change is to the web addresses (URLs) of the pages. If you have previously bookmarked the log in page, you should update your bookmark to the new URL. The old version will be left in place for a short while to give customers opportunity to make the change. The new release of the online service uses Java technology which will help improve the product's ongoing security.

The Step by Step guide explains how to create your own username and password then request your PIN number. You will need a PIN number to complete the sign up process so please make sure that you 'Request a PIN' after creating your username.

E-billing means that instead of sending you paper bills. we'll send you an email with a hyperlink enabling you to view your bill online.

Direct Debit over the web enables you to complete and submit a mandate to pay your council tax by direct debit. This service validates your bank details and passes the information directly to the council tax system.

To use these online services you will need to have a council tax account number that begins with an 8. All bills and notices issued since July 2006 will have this number.

Security Statement

The Council Tax Online web pages are installed behind a Microsoft ISA (Internet Security and Acceleration) server which provides intrusion detection security for the site. All external traffic to the site is encrypted using a certificate installed on the ISA to 128Bit encryption.
