Free Transport
Derby City Council provides free home to school transport for pupils who live in the Council’s area AND attend their nearest suitable school which is at least:
There is a new application form for home to school transport

Subsidised Transport
Derby City Council provides supported home to school transport in areas where pupils have
difficulty getting a commercial bus service for the school journey.
Pupils aged 5 to 16, who are not entitled to free transport, may apply for fare-paying spaces on school buses. Parents must pay in advance for fare-paying spaces - it is not possible for pupils to pay when they get on the bus.

b_line is the discount and travel card for young people throughout Derbyshire.
If you’re 11 to 13 years old b_line 1 is a discount card that will give you money off and deals on the things you want to buy.
If you’re 14 – 18 years old and in full-time education, a b_line 2 card will give you half fare travel on buses and trains throughout Derbyshire as well as discounts at various shops and services.

Post-16 Transport
Students aged 16 or over should be travelling using their b_line card, which entitles them to half fare on commercial bus services. Any spare farepaying spaces on supported school bus services may be offered to students aged 16 or over once all other students have been allocated spaces.

Behaviour on Board School Transport
When applying for transport, parents sign to confirm that they have spoken to their child about the need to behave responsibly at all times when travelling on school bus services.
