What markets are there in Derby?

We manage three main markets:

• Eagle Market
• Market Hall (Cathedral Quarter)
• Allenton Market

We also manage the operation of the Cattle Market and Wholesale Market.

Eagle Market

This is in an undercover modern building containing 340 stalls, offering a full range of goods and with full access for disabled people.  You can get to it from East Street and Westfield Shopping Centre from Theatre Walk.  You can also access it directly from Westfield's Car Parks.

Opening times: Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 5.30pm.

Market Hall (Cathedral Quarter)

The fully restored Victorian Market Hall on Tenant Steet has a wide variety of stalls and offers separate Fish and Poultry sections.  You can get to it from the Market Place, Cornmarket and Osnabruck Square.

Opening times: Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 5.30pm.

Allenton Market

This is a traditional open-air market on Osmaston Road, and has 90 stalls with covered walkways. Car parking is available next to the market.

Opening times:

• General market: Friday and Saturday from 9.00am to 5.30pm.
• Flea market: Tuesday from 4.00pm to 6.30pm.

Cattle Market

This is a traditional livestock market held each Thursday on Chequers Road, Derby

Horse sales are held every 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month.  Telephone 01332 342108 for more information.

Wholesale Market

This is a distribution centre on Chequers Road, Derby, for fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables from all over the world.  It is trade sales only and is not open to the public.
