Breakfast clubs, which are often called before-school clubs, mostly care for children aged four to 11 years. If they are open for more than two hours a day, they need to be registered by Ofsted, unless they are run by a school.
Most breakfast clubs run from 8.00am until the start of school. If the club is independently run, rather than being run at the school, the club’s staff will be responsible for making sure your child is dropped off and collected safely from school.
Breakfast clubs may be run by schools, day nurseries, voluntary groups or provided by childminders.
