We are also members of LABC which is an organisation that represents Local Authority Building Control throughout England and Wales. Through LABC you can access additional services such as Residential and Non-Residential warranties, Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments, SBEM and SAP calculations, Air Pressure Testing, Sound Testing and so on.
LABC operates a partnership scheme which allows us to check building regulation applications on behalf of another local authority provided that a partnership between us and the person submitting the application is registered with LABC.
If the building that you propose to do work on is a house then you have a choice...
If the building that is affected by your project is not a dwelling then you must use the full plans application. This is because we must consult with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service as there are fire safety regulations that you must comply with when the building is in use after the work has been completed.
