  • What can I do to prevent pest infestation?

    • Never leave waste or food items out
    • Ensure all rubbish is securely contained where pests cannot get to it
    • Maintain your drainage system properly - repair broken pipes and cover
  • Will you be able to identify the insect I have found?

    Yes. We can identify insect pests that you may have a problem with in your home. If you bring a sample to the Pest Control Service at the Council House, we will let you know what they are and advise you on what you can do to eliminate the problem or book in a treatment. We only use approved pesticides that are safe and effective. Our treatments have a low impact on the environment and our staff are fully trained.

  • What pests don’t you treat?

    • Lice
    • Mites
    • Pigeons and other birds (Commercial only)
    • Spiders
    • Woodlice
    • Woodworm

    If you want any other pest infestations removing, you will need to contact a private pest control company.

    We would recommend that you:

    • get at least three quotes
    • make sure you know whether the charge is fixed or by the hour
    • ask if there is a guarantee for the work.

    In the case of a bee swarm the most appropriate method of control is the safe removal of the swarm to a hive by an experienced beekeeper. We do not provide this service, but we can provide you with contact details for a local beekeeper.

  • What should I do if I have a bee swarm?

  • Do you provide pesticides for DIY use?

    No. You can find these products in any large DIY store or pet shop. Always read the label before use.

  • Will you remove dead rats or mice?

    We will only remove them if we are treating at your premises.
