We host a range of activities and events across Derby, including the annual Darley Park Concert and Markeaton Park's annual bonfire and fireworks display, as well as sporting events, charity fundraisers and organised walks.

If you want to put on an event on our parks and open spaces, we will support you with your event application and planning by:
You must receive prior permission from us before your event can take place. The conditions stated within the Site License Agreement and Conditions must be followed at all times.
We accept applications for most events, including:
There are over 300 parks and open spaces you can use to run your event. Some of these are listed on our Parks and open spaces web page, but for a full list please contact us. You can see what public events are already taking place with our Leisure events page.
If you would like to book an event in the city centre, please contact Derby LIVE.
If you would like to book an even in our sports centres, please contact the sports centre directly. Visit our sports facilities page for contact details.
Once you have submitted your application it will be thoroughly checked by us. It may also be checked by other organisations such as the Police, Fire and Ambulance services if needed.
When everyone is satisfied that your event will be safe and well managed, we will approve your application and set specific license conditions for you to use.
We ask for at least three months' notice for events with over 1,000 people attending, or for events which are of a 'more complex nature' as they will need to go to the Safety Advisory Group.
For events with fewer than 1,000 people attending, we ask for at least one month's notice.
The Safety Advisory Group's aim is to make sure that any risk to public safety at events is kept to a minimum. If the event is likely to attract more than 1,000 people, or due to its nature, location, complexity or size has specific risks associated with it, your application form will need to be looked at by the group. Representatives from the group will then support and advice you with your event.
