Arts - information and advice

The Derby Arts Forum is the principal advocate of the arts and their value, raising their profile in the local region. The Arts Forum encourages collaboration, networking opportunities and knowledge sharing.

All individuals, organisations and students involved in the origination, development and promotion of arts activity in Derby are encouraged to become members of the Derby Arts Forum.

Benefits of joining the Arts Forum

The Arts Forum meetings take place at least twice a year.  The meetings are perfect opportunities for networking, information sharing and being at the heart of arts development in Derby.

Arts Forum members receive regular email bulletins on topics like:

• recruitment and employment
• arts commissions and exhibiting opportunities
• professional development training courses and workshops
• volunteering opportunities
• grant and funding information
• arts in education.

The summer meeting is usually in June or July, and the winter meeting falls in November or December.

How can I join the Arts Forum?

You can join the Arts Forum for free by completing the Arts Forum joining form and returning it to the Arts and Service Development Team.

• a 'what's on' event listings for Derby and Derbyshire.
• arts-based advice and information on a whole range of topics including festival development and arts in educational settings and developing your creative business.
• arts news, jobs, training, opportunities, commissions and funding.

The artsderbyshire website has an extensive database of Derby and Derbyshire artists, arts organisations and arts venues. 

Derby-based artists, arts organisations and arts venues can set up a free profile page and free mini-site on the artsderbyshire website. Once you have set a profile page up, you can advertise your arts events and activities for free through the website
