eLibrary - eBook and eAudiobook loans

We offer an eLibrary service which is available to customers who currently live, work or study within the city boundaries. This geographical condition is part of our licence agreement and we are required under the terms and conditions of our contract to adhere to these guidelines.

What is available

  • eBooks - digital books that you can view on your computer or mobile reading device
  • eAudiobooks - spoken word recordings that can be played on your computer or mobile device
  • Derby's history - ebooks, audio and video recording relating to Derby's History.
  • eLanguage courses - software to help you learn a language, which can be used on your computer or mobile device.
  • eReference library - This page contains links to online resources such as encyclopaedias and reference guides

 

How to subscribe to our online service

You'll need to visit your library to subscribe to this service. You will be asked for proof of identity (ID) to confirm that you either live, work or study within the city boundary. We provide a list of acceptable ID in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). You will not be able to use your library, b_line or Gold cards to access this service.

This subscription is not needed to use the eReference library.  You can use your library card for the eReference library.
